5 Mompreneur top tips for when you’re just starting out

1. Grow Your Facebook Following

In almost any industry that you want to go into you need to have a following – that is fans that love what you do and want to buy your products.

Question is how do you find those fans? How do you build up from 0? Some people make this sound so easy, but trust me I struggled.

It’s not that there aren’t people who will love what you are doing – the question is how to find those people and attract them to your FB page.

That’s where this course comes in. From the brilliant mind of Rachel Miller - the Moolah Marketer - comes the Page Strategies Course.

Rachel takes you from zero fans, to massive page growth with FANS who BUY what you’re selling!

How cool is that? Now she only opens this class twice a year but you can go here to get on her wait list for when it opens up again. Trust me, it’s worth the wait. Moolah Grow Your Audience Course.

Now you’re going to say – don’t I need something to sell first and then go build the audience? No, actually. The best way to build your business is to build the audience and then to ask them what they want in the product or course that you’re creating for them.

You ask them what they’re struggling with, what solutions they need and then you build out your products. Rachel explains it all in her course. I can’t wait to see what you build with the knowledge bombs that Rachel shares in this course!

After you’ve signed up for Rachel’s waitlist, in the meanwhile you can join Rachel’s Free Facebook group here.

And here’s some of Rachel’s resources to get you started:

2. Create a Course & Host it

Now that you’re building your following, you want to give them lots of free content, via a blog, FB lives, a YouTube channel, but also want to save some of your most important content and systematize it into a course. These courses don’t need to be long and complicated. They need to solve problems and save your followers time. There are two great platforms where I personally host my classes.

Teachable

Teachable is easy to use, very popular among bloggers and it’s less expensive. You just upload your videos, audios or text with any handouts, set the price and you’re ready to go. They have an affiliate program and you can set up a web sales page as well. Really the easiest way to go. Check out teachable to host your course here.

Kajabi

Kajabi  is where I host my course – Parenting from Chaos to Connection. I’ve been with them for years and I just love the ease of how the platform works, the nice look that the classes have – it looks super professional, and the flexibility and different options that they offer. This platform is a bit more costly than teachable but it’s the one I prefer for larger courses with more modules. Feel free to check out Kajabi here and if you’ve taken my parenting course then you know what courses on Kajabi look like!Confused about the difference between Kajabi and Teachable? Sorry about that. Little hard to explain. Here’s a great blog post that does a much better job than me explaining the difference between the two. Kajabi vs. Teachable Comparison blog post.

3. Learn how to Create Funnels to get your followers to buy your Products & Courses

Jeff Walker’s Product Launch Formula has become the way of marketing for the last decade. He teaches you a step by step formula for launching your product or course and making it a success.

Want to learn from the guy who invented the whole system? Check out Jeff Walker’s hands on an incredible course here. I took it personally and it was a complete game changer for me.

Click Funnels – So you’re ready to create your funnels but don’t want to hire someone to do it all? Why not create the funnels yourself? Especially if they’ve already been done for you.

Click Funnels literally created all the different types of funnels that you can think of and created templates for them. You just pick your style, cut and paste your own pics and wording and voila – made for you funnels. Pretty cool.

I personally use Click Funnels and all my sales pages, webinar sign up pages, checkout pages are all hosted in Clickfunnels. AND – I made them all myself!

Pretty cool, no?

4. Start doing Affiliate Marketing

Ok, so what on earth is that and how do I do it? Affiliate marketing is promoting someone else’s products or courses and getting paid for it.

Let’s say you’re expecting a baby and you’re looking for a great childbirth course and you come across my pin on Pinterest that leads you to my blog post called "Compare 7 Birthing Classes and find the best one for you".

So you click on this link and read about all these classes and then you click on the one that interests you most and you buy the course. Now I’ve already signed up with these childbirth classes as affiliates, that means that the link that I used to share the page with you is my personal affiliate link.

So if you buy, I get credited and they pay me part of the sale. Now, of course, I will only ever tell you about products or services that I’ve either personally used or that I’ve done a lot of research about and I know that they are good products. You can do the same.

You read a great book and you want to tell everyone about it? Great, sign up with amazon.com as an affiliate and then promote the book using your affiliate link.

Ok, ok I’ll admit it. I didn’t just learn all of this on my own. I actually took an incredible course call Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing. In this course, Michelle teaches you all the ins and outs of affiliate marketing and how to make it work for your business.

She’s personally made over $1M just by doing affiliate marketing herself – so she’s definitely the one to go to learn from the pro herself.

(P.S. This course is hosted in Teachable so you can see what it looks like)

5. Get an Affordable Virtual Assistant

So you’re already thinking – THIS IS WAY TOO OVERWHELMING!!! I totally relate to that! It can certainly be extremely overwhelming whether you’re at the infant stages of your business or even further.

I have to say that more than any other effective resource that I can give you is helping you find an incredible VA – virtual assistant who fits your budget.

Someone told me about online jobs a few years back and it’s literally saved my sanity. I’m the creative type and I love shooting out new ideas and content all the time but all the technicalities seemed to weigh me down a lot.

Finding a VA (virtual assistant) who I love and work well with has been a complete game changer for me – so I can get ahead in my business, do the fun work that I love, and still make sure that all my ‘busy technical work’ still gets done.

You pay a small fee to get access to the online jobs platform where you can search hundreds of profiles of qualified men and women who are from the Philippines.

Once you sign up you’ve got full access to any kind of assistant that you need: video editing, FB marketing, graphic designer, Wordpress site builder, general assistant, etc.

I had a wonderful woman named Kristel who was an extremely talented graphic artist working for me for 2 years, as well as Alvin who was doing my videos. Now I’m working with a young mom named Marj and she’s just amazing. Efficient, quick and so easy to work with.

Expectations for salaries in the Philippines is lower than in the US so it makes their salaries affordable for me and allows me to have a VA at all, and enables me to get soooooo much more work done.

Believe me, this one tip can save your sanity. Get yourself an affordable Virtual Assistant and you’ll get so much more done – watch you’ll come thanking me…. I know.
